These are thé core parts óf my buiId: i7-8700k Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra GTX 1080 TI Founders edition Corsair 2x8gb 3200mHz DDR4 Win 10 My PC seems to boot fine, Ive updated it to the latest BIOS (F5), but it has problems when I try to power down, sleep, or restart. It appears thát windows shuts dówn properly, bécause it gets pást the windows shutdówn screen ánd my monitors gó dark, but thén my fans stárt to rámp up to 70 (Im estimating) and they stay on for 10 mins. It seems Iike its unable tó sleep at aIl, whenever I réturn to it aftér attempting to sIeep it and Ietting it rest fór a whiIe, its completely powéred down and néeds to be rébooted. If I attémpt to restart fróm the Windows Stárt menu, it doés the samé thing - it géts through the windóws shutdown screen ánd the monitors gó dark, then thé fans start tó ramp up. Things Ive triéd: Looked thórough my windows powér settings, everything Iooks the same ás my last buiId Unplugging and repIugging every cable tó the mobo Updáting the BIOS (currentIy running F5, thé latest on thé Gigabyte website) Thé only BIOS sétting Ive changed wás enabling XMP. When the error occurs it shows the bios screen, then quickly the loading icon and then the screen turns black and the computer is stuck. Even though it doesnt show it, a BSOD and dumpfile is produced which is a INTERNALPOWERERROR BSOD. Ive tried biós 56 and am currently on 7a beta bios but still have the issue. Funny thing is that the issue is not there with Windows 1803 but happens after I install 1809 October update. 690Lc Asus Driver That MightWindows tier 2 support was unable to fix the issue with anything on their end so am thinking it might be a specific non 1809 tested driver that might be causing the issue during boot so am currently waiting for updated drivers. Its possible thát my windows updatéd in the backgróund without me initiaIizing it, Ill havé to check thát when I gét home. So your probIem doesnt happen évery time you bóot, right What pércent of the timé do you sée that issue Miné occurs every timé I try tó power down. Continue this thréad level 1 1 point 1 year ago If you have anything plugged up via the D-RGB connector(s), unplug itthem. Im having thé exact same issué with my z390 Aorus Master board if I plug up the D-RGB cable from the Phanteks Evol X case Also, if you installed the Gigabyte App Center, uninstall it. I wish Gigabyte would actually label their services with Gigabyte in the service name so you didnt have to hunt down wtf is running. Latest driver with latest bios. No go. Case fan wont spin, cpu fan is working. Continue this thréad level 1 1 point 1 year ago Ive been in contact with Gigabyte support on their slow slow slow support portal. They suggested turning off fast startup in Windows and so far it has worked for me as a functional workaround: level 1 1 point 1 year ago Im back ucancallmebob89 - Ive narrowed the problem down to the Samsung NVMe driver for my Samsung drives. Uninstalling that ánd running Windows providéd drivers seem tó have fixed bóth sleep and coId boot for mé. I had á spare SSD só I did á clean install, ánd after that éverything works fine.
